  • We believe in the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, in their original writing as being divinely inspired by God. We accept them as the absolute authority for faith and life.
  • We believe in one Eternal God. We believe He externally exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that God created man in His own image. We believe that man chose sin and suffered the physical and spiritual penalty which is death. Consequently, all humans are born with a sin nature which separates them from God.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary through the work of God the Holy Spirit. We believe that He was fully God and fully man, the Word made flesh.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life in total obedience and love to His Father. He spoke what He heard the Father say and did what He saw the Father doing.
  • We believe that Jesus bore the sin of humanity on His own body, taking upon Himself God’s wrath for sin. All who repent and have faith in Him are justified by the redemptive work of His shed blood on the cross. This is the New Birth or Born Again experience.
  • We believe in the physical resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into Heaven, and His present day ministry as our High Priest and Advocate.
  • We believe there is a sanctifying work in the New Birth that transfers the believer from the “kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.” We believe the work of sanctification continues as the believer renews their mind by the Word of God.
  • We believe that through the New Birth the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer into the body of Christ and comes to dwell within them.
  • We believe in a subsequent empowerment of the Holy Spirit that enables the believer to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.
  • We believe that in the New Birth the seed of God’s holy character is planted in the believer and will produce fruit.
  • We believe that all men stand under the righteous judgment of Christ Jesus both now and on the last day. We believe in the resurrection of the dead where the righteous have life eternal in Heaven, and the wicked receive eternal condemnation in the Lake of Fire.

ORDINANCES

We at the Radford Worship Center practice two distinct ordinances: Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

  • Water Baptism is immersion in water as a public confession identifying oneself with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
  • The Lord’s Supper is partaking of the symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. We remember His sacrificial death until He returns. We are to treat this with respect and humility, examining ourselves so as to partake worthily.

GOOD WORKS

  • We believe good works are a necessary fruit of faith, reveals one’s love for God, and affirm redemption but are not able to remove sin.
  • We believe good works please God and follow the example of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe good works reveal a living and practical faith to a fallen world.
